Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein would have let Osama bin Laden live.
“I think assassinations . . . they’re against international law to start with and to that effect, I think I would not have assassinated Osama bin Laden but would have captured him and brought him to trial,” Stein told The Des Moines Register in a weekend interview.
Bin Laden was killed by Navy SEALs in Pakistan on May 2, 2011, in a raid ordered by President Obama and backed by then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Stein, campaigning in a front of 150 people at the Iowa state Capitol Sunday, bashed Clinton and Donald Trump as “warmongers.”
She said the 9/11 attacks “provided a pretext for the wrong wars, which have only gotten us into more trouble.”
