Vice President Joe Biden has soared to second place in a poll against Hillary Rodham Clinton, although he’s not officially a Democratic presidential candidate.
A Monmouth University survey released Tuesday showed Clinton at 42 percent, Biden at 22 percent and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders capturing 20 percent. Biden scored just 12 percent in the same poll in August, when Clinton held a gigantic lead with 52 percent.
“For a guy who is not running for president, Biden sure is making headway against the front-runner,” said Monmouth pollster Patrick Murray.
