Jon Stewart vented rage about the Baltimore riots, saying, “There seems to be only two points on the scale: normal and on fire. Even volcanoes have a four-step warning system. It doesn’t go from clear sky to the floor is lava.”

Throughout the seven-minute “Daily Show” rant Tuesday, he noted this week’s violence was decades in the making.

“Clearly, Baltimore was belching smoke far before Saturday,” Stewart said.
