The judge who sent three kids to juvenile detention in 2015 is finally getting a punishment of her own.

Oakland County Judge Lisa Gorcyca made international headlines last year while presiding over a custody dispute between Omer Tsimhoni and his estranged wife Maya Eibschitz-Tsimhoni. When the couple’s three children — Liam, Roee and Natalie — refused to have lunch with their father, Gorcyca found them guilty of contempt of court and sentenced the three children to a juvenile-detention facility, threatening to hold them their until they turned 18 if they did not cooperate.

Just over a year later, a special master appointed by the Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission, retired Judge Daniel Ryan, ruled that Gorcyca “made disparaging comments” to the children and showed “inappropriate demeanor on the bench” when ruling on their case.

Ryan’s findings have been submitted to the MJTC, which will issue a recommendation for discipline.
