The dullest veep candidates in memory have begun their battle.
Democratic Sen. Tim Kaine started the fight by accusing Indiana Republican Gov. Mike Pence of being against LGBT rights.
At a stop in Greensboro, NC, Kaine linked Pence to North Carolina’s controversial law banning transgender people from using the bathroom of their choice.
“Same thing happened in Indiana,” Kaine said of the Hoosier State’s Religious Freedom Law, “and he had to kind of do a U-turn.”
Pence signed the law last year and altered it after businesses rejected it as discriminatory. He said Thursday he “abhors discrimination,” but believes “these are issues best worked out at the state level.”
