Vice President-elect Kamala Harris’ husband Douglas Emhoff will join the staff of Georgetown University’s law school next month.

Emhoff, 56, will be the first non-female and first Jewish spouse of a US president or vice president.

Emhoff, a lawyer, stepped down from law firm DLA Piper in November to avoid the appearance of conflicts of interest.

Emhoff will teach a two-credit course on “Entertainment Law Disputes” in the spring.

Georgetown’s law campus is located between Capitol Hill and the White House, rather than in the historic neighborhood of the same name.

The law school is consistently among the highest ranked in the US.

President Trump’s daughter Tiffany Trump graduated in May from Georgetown Law.

President-elect Joe Biden’s wife Jill, a community college instructor, said during the campaign she also intends to teach during the Biden administration.
