One of the jurors in the Karen Read trial said he believes she is completely “innocent” in the death of her Boston cop boyfriend John O’Keefe, but some of his fellow jurors did not initially feel the same way.

The juror, Jason, told TMZ Thursday that the panel was “a mix” between some who thought she was “definitely innocent” while others agreed there was enough reasonable doubt to acquit of the most serious charges.

A few jurors even initially thought she might be guilty of killing O’Keefe before everyone got on the same page.

The “poor investigation” is eventually what led the jurors to return its unanimous determination because authorities couldn’t prove she hit her beau with her Lexus, Jason said.

But Jason said reasonable doubt never played a part in his decision.

“I think that she was innocent,” he said resolutely. “I don’t believe that SUV collided with John O’Keefe.”

She was only convicted of drunk driving and was sentenced to a year on probation even though she was facing charges of second-degree murder, manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident.

Jason said the hordes of Read fanatics outside the Norfolk County courthouse awaiting the verdict added extra stress to the jury deliberations.

“Honesty that made the pressure a lot harder and it did not give me comfort, it made it a lot harder to block out everything,” he said, stressing the fans ultimately had no effect on the final outcome.

Jason also insisted that while “there were a lot of holes in the investigation,” he isn’t sure if Read was the scapegoat in a law enforcement cover up.

He added he isn’t sure how O’Keefe died.

“I don’t know if there was any corruption going on,” he said. “But do I know that there wasn’t enough proof or evidence secured by the police to convict Karen Read absolutely.”
