The mother of the Colorado woman missing for nearly three weeks said Thursday she’s sure “somebody knows where she’s at” — as she pleaded for answers.
“Somebody has seen her,” Cheryl Berreth said on NBC’s “Today Show” about her 29-year-old daughter Kelsey who was last seen on Thanksgiving Day. “There’s more info out there. Somebody just needs to realize, recognize, say something.”
Woodland Park Police said Berreth, who is the mother of a 1-year-old girl, was last seen in public shopping at a local grocery store Nov. 22.
She wasn’t reported missing until Dec. 2 by her mother, who told the outlet Kelsey has never run off — and isn’t the type to do something like that.
“I can’t think of anywhere she’s ever gone where she hasn’t told me,” said Berreth. “It’s just not in her character to do something, to just take off and be gone.”
The daughter and mom, who lives in Idaho, spoke on the phone twice on the holiday about recipes, Berreth said.
“Her voice was fine,” she said. “It was a normal day.”
Kelsey Berreth’s fiance and dad to her daughter, Patrick Frazee, said he saw her that day to pick up their little girl. The last time they were in touch was on Nov. 25, when he got a text from Berreth’s phone, he said.
On Nov. 25., Doss Aviation, where Berreth works as a flight instructor, also got a text message from her phone saying she was taking the next week off, police said.
Frazee’s attorney said Wednesday that his client was cooperating with cops and had turned over his phone and a DNA swab.
Cheryl Berreth said her daughter and future son-in-law were in a “good” and “loving” relationship.
Investigators are treating the disappearance as a missing persons case and Cheryl said there’s no point in thinking anything nefarious occurred.
“Sure there’s a possibility something else happened but it does me no good to go down that road, and it does Kelsey no good,” she said.
