Ghoulish terrorists tortured and mutilated their hostages during the Kenya mall seizure and turned the Nairobi complex into a scene out of a horror movie, a police doctor said.
Men were blinded and castrated before they were hung from hooks, he said. The bodies of children were found in restauant refrigerators with knives stuck in them.
“These are not allegations. These are f–king truths,” the forensic doctor told Kenyan newspaper The Star.
Kenyan authorities were reportedly investigating evidence that the al Qaeda-linked al-Shabab terrorists rented a small shop in the Westgate mall for a year and stored weapons including heavy machine guns and explosives in it in preparation for the attack.
In other developments:
- Al-Shabab used Twitter to warn that more assaults are coming. “The mesmeric performance by the #Westgate Warriors was undoubtedly gripping, but despair not folks, that was just the premiere of Act I,” it tweeted.
- Eight suspects are being held, three were interrogated and released, and five others escaped, Interior Minister Joseph Ole Lenku said.
- A top-ranking military official disclosed that Kenya’s military caused three floors of the mall to collapse. A senior police official said Kenyan troops fired rocket-propelled grenades into the mall during the siege.
