North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un invited the South Korean president to the Hermit Kingdom through his sister on Saturday as part of a mounting charm offensive during the Pyeongchang Olympic Games.
Kim’s younger sis Kim Yo-jong delivered the rare invitation to President Moon Jae-in amid ongoing concerns over the North Korean nuclear threat as the two countries compete as one team in the Games.
“We hope to see you in Pyongyang at an early date,” Kim Yo- jong told Moon after passing along a personal letter from her brother, according to officials.
If Moon accepts the invite, this would be the third summit between the two counties.
