A New Zealand parrot provided a breathtaking, bird’s-eye view of a scenic landscape — after swiping a GoPro camera from a group of hikers.

The Verheul family told local news program “Seven Sharp” that they were hiking in the remote Fiordland when they were joined by some kea, a species of large parrot known for its intelligence and curiosity, the Guardian reported.

They placed the camera to capture video of the birds, which have been known to swipe food, wallets and valuables from unsuspecting tourists.

Pretty soon, a sticky-clawed parrot landed on a railing, grabbed the GoPro and swooped down the hillside, capturing a stunning backward view of the area.

The mischievous poacher finally landed and attacked the camera before a boy recovered the device.

“We just followed the sound down there, we could see them hanging out in a tree — they’d obviously heard us coming and abandoned the GoPro,” Alex Verheul told “Seven Sharp.”

“My son decided to go check the rocks where it looked like a good place for a bird to land, and there it was still sitting there, still filming,” he added.
