LOS ANGELES — The creep accused of murdering “American Idol” executive Robin Kaye and her husband was a heavy drug user who terrified neighbors with his antics, locals said – and he also had several alarming arrests to his name.

Raymond Boodarian, 22, lived in a condo just 13 minutes from the $4.5 million Encino home where Kaye and her husband were executed during a suspected break-in last week, and his neighbors told The Post he was a constant problem.

 “We had a lot of problems with him because he’s taking drugs. Every now and then he would be outside high,” an 80-year-old local said. “The neighbors complained and they come and arrest him.”

Boodarian would also bring other druggies around and get high with them on the block.

“I’m afraid. I’m frightened of them,” the neighbor told The Post.

Boodarian was arrested Tuesday after the body of Kaye and her husband, 70-year-old Thomas DeLuca, were found in their home with fatal gunshot wounds to the head.

Another neighbor said Boodarian would often wander the streets like a zombie for hours on end and exhibit oddball behavior.

“He would sit in front of my friend’s house just staring and smiling. He did that on multiple occasions, sometimes in his own house, just looking out the window and smiling,” the neighbor recalled.

Nobody in the community seemed surprised when they learned of Boodarian’s arrest, the local added.

The murders are just the latest crime he’s been accused off – Boodarian has a rap sheet filled with arrests for charges of violent behavior going back to 2023.

He was first arrested in October of that year but what released the same day, then was behind bars and released again by February. He was arrested once more in June, 2024, and that time remained in custody for six months, according to California inmate records.

Those arrests stemmed from charges of exhibiting a deadly weapon, battery and threatening to commit a crime with intent to terrorize, the LA Times reported.

His charges were all eventually dismissed over mental competency.

Photos from the Tuesday arrest obtained by TMZ showed a shirtless Boodarian with his hands behind his back outside his home, and a large group of police in body armor surrounding him.

Fingerprints on file from his earlier arrests, coupled with security footage, led police to connect him to the murders of DeLuca and Kaye, the outlet reported.

He is suspected of breaking into their heavily fortified mansion on Thursday, and then gunning the couple down when they came home and walked in on them.

“He was there for approximately half an hour,” Los Angeles Police Lt. Guy Golan said, according to the LA Times. 

“When the homeowners returned back to their residence, a violent struggle ensued between them and the suspect, who was already inside their home, which resulted in the victims tragically losing their lives.”

Kaye and DeLuca were “ruthlessly shot multiple times,” the officer added.

A neighbor saw somebody hop the couple’s fence around 4 p.m. the day they were killed and called police – but when officers arrived they found nothing immediately amiss, even after they flew a helicopter over the property to get a better look.

But that was only because the couple were already dead inside, police said.

The sickening crime was just the latest to hit the celeb-filled enclave which is home to the likes of Nick Jonas and Dave Grohl.

Last summer Encino saw a 40% spike in home burglaries after at least eight frightening break-ins between July and August that followed a similar playbook to the incident that killed Kaye and DeLuca.

In those robberies, masked thieves broke into homes through windows and glass doors, sometimes when terrified parents and kids were at home.

The break-ins appeared to follow a playbook local Latin gangs use, where a neighborhood is targeted for weeks at a time before another is terrorized, according to police.

Boodarian is not believed to be connected to any wider criminal network.
