Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock’s gambling roots run deep — his convict father oversaw a bingo hall in Oregon while living on the lam.
Stephen — described as a die-hard slot jockey who would text his brother Eric to brag about hitting jackpots in Las Vegas — is the son of Benjamin Hoskins Paddock, who landed on the FBI’s 10 most-wanted list in 1969 after breaking out of prison where he was doing time for bank robbery.
The dad was operating a Eugene, Ore., bingo hall under an assumed identity when the feds finally caught up to him, according to an account from the Eugene Register-Guard.
Wanted posters from the era noted that the elder Paddock was an avid bridge player.
He died in 1998, according to the LA Times.
