The two Las Vegas teens accused of killing a retired cop in a hit-and-run last month will remain in custody until their next hearings — despite one of them bragging to police that he would be sprung from jail within days.
Jesus Ayala, 18, and Jzamir Keys, 16 — who were charged with murder in the death of 64-year-old Andreas Probst — were arraigned in two separate court hearings Tuesday, Fox 5 Vegas reported.
Probst was riding a bicycle on Aug. 14 when a car drove up behind him and crashed into him. Police identified Ayala, who was 17 at the time, as the car’s driver.
Following his arrest, Ayala reportedly told officers he would be out of jail in just 30 days with a measly “slap on the wrist,” according to an arrest report.
“You think this juvenile s–t is gonna do some s–t? I’ll be out in 30 days. I’ll bet you,” an arrest report claimed Ayala said.

An arrest report said the interaction was caught on a body-worn camera.
Video of the deadly crash allegedly recorded by Keys shows that the hit-and-run was intentional, police said.
One of the teens took a video of the hit-and-run, which police called “intentional.” News4SanAntonioDuring a Sept. 14 interview with a school resource officer, Keys allegedly told the officer he knew he was being interviewed because he “killed that guy on the bike.” Keys then provided the video he had taken of the incident to police.
The teens are suspected of using multiple stolen cars in a string of incidents prior to Probst’s killing.
Ayala faces additional charges including failing to stop at the scene of a crash involving death or personal injury, leaving the scene of a crash, possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of a burglary tool.

Keys, who took the video of the incident, asked to extend the date for his preliminary hearing to November. His hearing has been set for Nov. 8.
Bail will be discussed at the next hearings for each suspect. However, Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson said he will ask that bail be denied for both Ayala and Keys.
