Before he became a self-promoting secrets leaker, Edward Snowden was a Web master with a geeky avatar.

Snowden was 18 (pictured) when he worked for Ryuhana Press, a now-defunct Web site that sold the Japanese animation art called anime.

Snowden used the avatar above. The company closed in 2004 but the site was taken down just yesterday.
