Appalling footage captured a mysterious liquid spilling out of the restroom and trailing down the airplane aisle on a Spirit Airlines flight to Newark.

Passengers aboard a Spirit Airlines flight from Atlanta to Newark on Monday were stunned watching the mystery liquid trickling down the aisle, eventually turning into a steady stream of fluid soaking the carpet.

Repulsed travelers can be seen looking on in horror in a video shared by Storyful, while others can be heard making jokes trying to make light of the unfortunate situation, with one woman quipping, “I love Spirit” in the background.

Some passengers whipped out their phones to take their own footage of the wet mess, which began as the plane was beginning to touch down in Newark.

The person behind the camera can be heard commenting, “Pick your feet up” as a rush of water pours down the aisle, causing other passengers to moan in disgust.

The video-taker told Storyful, “Passengers rush to lift their belongings and feet as a river then rushed down the center, as the plane touched down.”

They said the liquid appeared to come from the rear lavatory.

An airline spokesperson said the spillage was “clean, potable water” that came from “an issue with a potable water line connected to a sink in the rear lavatory.”

“Maintenance addressed the issue and cleared the aircraft to continue with its next scheduled flight,” the spokesperson added.
