Court is over for the day

After a day chock full of pre-recorded testimony, court adjourned for the day with Johnny Depp's divorce attorney Laura Wasser wrapping up her testimony.

We'll see you back here tomorrow morning.

Depp's divorce lawyer Laura Wasser testifies

Laura Wasser, the celebrity divorce lawyer who inspired Laura Dern's iconic character in the 2019 movie "Marriage Story," is now giving testimony via pre-recorded deposition.

Wasser, who was subpoenaed and deposed on Dec 16, 2020, represented Johnny Depp in his split from Amber Heard, who filed for divorce from the actor in 2016.

Some of her other high-profile clients include Angelina Jolie in her divorce from Brad Pitt, Jennifer Garner in her divorce from Ben Affleck, and Britney Spears in her divorce from Kevin Federline.

Amber Heard only dated Elon Musk because she was "filling space," court testimony has revealed.

Heard texted her then-agent Christian Carino of CAA in 2017 that she was sad over her spilt with Musk.

"I hate when things go public," she wrote, according to texts read aloud during Carino's testimony.

Carino responded: "You weren't in love with him and you told me a thousand times you were just filling space."

Recognize Depp's former agent Christian Carino?

If Christian Carino -- the witness currently testifying -- looks familiar to you, that's because he was once engaged to Lady Gaga.

The "A Star Is Born" actress started dating the agent to the stars in February 2017 and they confirmed their engagement in October 2018.

But by February 2019 they called it off.

Carino, an agent at CAA, previously represented Depp. A recorded deposition he gave about Depp and Heard's relationship is currently being played for the jury in Fairfax, Va.

ICYMI: LAPD cops say no injuries on Heard after Depp fight

By Ben Kesslen

Two LAPD officers have told the jury they didn't see bruises on Amber Heard's face when they responded to a domestic disturbance at the plush pad she shared with Johnny Depp on May 21, 2016.

LAPD officers testified that they saw no injuries or signs of abuse on Amber Heard after she claimed Johnny Depp beat her.

Six days later, Heard arrived at an LA courthouse to seek a restraining order -- with a clear red mark on her face -- in a scene that became a global spectacle. That day changed the lives of the two stars forever, and led to the ongoing trial in Fairfax, Va.

Heard had called the cops to the penthouse apartment, claiming Depp beat her on the face with a cell phone. He was gone by the time officers arrived, and she filed for divorce two days later.

Responding LAPD officers said they saw no injuries or signs of abuse, and recorded no crime, according to their pre-recorded depositions played in court today.

Officer Tyler Hadden said Heard refused to speak to officers and had no signs of injury -- though she had been crying and was red-faced.

“Just because I see a female with pink cheeks and pink eyes doesn’t mean something happened,” he testified.

Officer William Gatlin, who did a follow-up call to the home, said he saw no injuries, either, but acknowledged he didn't get very close to Heard.

Former agent: Abuse claims impacted Depp's 'off-screen reputation'

By Elizabeth Rosner

Johnny Depp’s former agent Christian Carino of CAA said he believes the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor lost his role in the franchise's sixth film due to Heard's abuse accusations, testimony has revealed.

Depp is “one of the finest actors of his generation" and Heard's claims hurt his career, Carino said in his deposition recorded on Jan. 19, 2021, played in court today.

We're also expecting to hear from Christian Carino, of CAA, the former agent to both Depp and Heard and Lady Gaga's ex-fiance. Stay tuned.

Milani sets record straight on Amber Heard’s bruises claims

By Alex Diaz

You can’t make this stuff up: “Let the record show” that Milani does not want to be dragged into Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s ugly courtroom drama.

The drugstore cosmetics brand was recently implicated in Depp’s defamation suit against his ex-wife Heard.

During opening statements this week, Heard’s attorney claimed that the “Aquaman” actress carried Milani Conceal + Perfect All-in-One Correcting Kit with her throughout her “entire relationship with Johnny” — and suggested she’d used the makeup to cover injuries from Depp’s alleged physical abuse during their relationship.

Milani has since responded to the brand’s surprise appearance at the trial. On Thursday, the makeup maker posted a 15-second video to its official TikTok account to debunk Heard’s claim.

Lunch break

Doorman Alejandro Romero finished his pre-recorded deposition while driving his car before the court adjourned for lunch.

We'll be back at 2 p.m.

Doorman: No 'marks or bruises' on Heard

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's former doorman testified that he couldn't recall "seeing any marks or bruises" on the actress' face in the days after the LAPD was called to their apartment in 2016.

"I just don't remember any," Alejandro Romero said in a pre-recorded deposition played in court. "I would've seen that and I would remember because that's something that you would see..

"But when I was there talking to her she was like three feet away from me, she was right in front of me, and I just don't remember seeing any marks, bruises or anything," he added.

He conceded that he also doesn't know if Heard was wearing makeup at the time.

Romero also said Depp is "most of the time really calm" and a "really happy person."

Former doorman Alejandro Romero: Depp was never violent

Alejandro Romero, the doorman of downtown LA's Eastern Columbia Building where Johnny Depp and Amber Heard once lived, testified in a pre-recorded deposition he seemed to give from his parked car.

Romero said he only met Depp "a couple times," but had never seem the actor be abusive or violent. He interacted more with Heard's sister Whitney Henriquez and her friend Raquel Pennington.

"I know you guys sent me the papers to review, and I'll be honest, I didn't want to review them because it's been so long," Romero told attorneys in the video, recorded on Jan. 22, 2021.

"It's like, I don't want to deal with this anymore," he said, which elicited a smile from Depp.

Romero said he wasn't working on May 21, 2016 when cops were called to the then-couple's pad for a domestic disturbance.

He previously provided a statement for Depp's UK trial against The Sun, writing that he saw Elon Musk “a few times a week” late at night in 2015 -- and that the Tesla CEO would “always visit when Mr. Depp was not at home” from around 11 p.m. to midnight.

Jury hears LAPD Officer William Gatlin's pre-recorded deposition

Officer Tyler Hadden's testimony is over and LAPD Officer William Gatlin is testifying via pre-recorded deposition about a domestic disturbance call at Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's LA pad on May 21, 2016.

Gatlin said he responded to the ex-couple's penthouse after Hadden had already come and gone.

A man answered the door and "kind of made it clear that this was sort of left over from that same incident," the cop said.

Much like his fellow officer, Gatlin did not seem particularly enthused to be deposed, giving short, curt answers in the video currently being played in court.

While he “was aware there was an actress by the name of Amber Heard,” Gatlin said he was “not totally familiar with her work.” He liked a few of Depp’s movies but “wasn’t rushing” to see them when they premiered.
