Brits pride themselves on being hardy sorts — and they need to be as they face digging out from snow for the next couple of weeks.

London was blitzed by 4 inches Saturday and could get much more through the end of January, the Sun reported, citing the government’s weather service.

Farther north, though, the accumulation was much more. As much as 8 inches fell on a swath of the UK that stretched from the Midlands region up into Scotland.

To the east and north of London, for example, the snow mixed with a big dose of ice, forcing courts to close and the National Health Service to advise seniors to reschedule their COVID-19 vaccinations.

The Met Office warned that some rural communities could be cut off by the heavy snow and suggested that Brits recharge their cellphones because power outages were possible.

A reprieve is coming Monday and Tuesday, but a blast of arctic air and a shot of snow from Scandinavia should settle in at least through the early days of February.
