The madman shot by cops after he stabbed several people at London Bridge has died, according to police who declared the incident an act of terrorism.

Metropolitan Police said a fake bomb was strapped to the man as he went on a slashing spree before 2 p.m. local time Friday near the bridge.

“It has been declared a terrorist incident,” Police Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu said Friday at a press conference.

Basu didn’t release any details about the condition of the victims, but police tweeted earlier that a “number of people had been stabbed.”

A video on social media showed three officers and a group of bystanders surrounding a man lying on the ground. A good Samaritan appeared to snatch a knife before one of the officers fired shots at the person on the ground.
