A 15-year-old boy killed his grandmother and stabbed his mother in their Long Island home after an argument erupted over content that was discovered on the teen’s computer, according to police.
The boy’s mother, 36-year-old Vanessa Chendemi, fled the horror scene at the Selden residence after her son had repeatedly stabbed her with a knife around 9:45 p.m. following a confrontation about the teen’s computer, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
It is not clear what content led to the gruesome attack.
The 15-year-old boy allegedly stabbed his mom and fatally stabbed his grandma at a house in Selden, Suffolk County.
The knifed mom flagged down a driver passing by and called 911 when the good Samaritan stopped and let her in the vehicle, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
When cops arrived at the residence on 802 Old Town Road, they found the teen’s grandmother, 56-year-old Concetta Chendemi, with multiple stab wounds.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Neighbors shocked by the violent crime told The Post that Concetta was a kind-hearted woman who worked at a laundromat in Yaphank and in the bakery department at a ShopRite in Port Jefferson.
“She was a great woman — worked hard, worked two jobs. I’d catch her in-between and say ‘hey, how are you doing, how’s work?’ and she’d say ‘it’s killing me,'” one neighbor shared.
“She’d work from 9 in the morning, even earlier sometimes, to like 9-10:00 at night. But she was friendly, upbeat.”
The 15-year-old has been charged with murder and attempted murder.
The neighbor said Concetta had lived at the house for around three years, and expressed shock at what could have motivated the brutal crime.
“How do you do that to somebody who breaks their ass to support you, who works two jobs to make ends meet so you have a place to stay, food to eat, and this is how you thank them?” the neighbor said.
“It just doesn’t make sense to me.”
ShopRite bakery coworker Dominic Iadanza, 28, was left reeling over the shocking death.

Vanessa Chendemi, who suffered stab wounds to the face, arm, back and neck, was taken to an area hospital in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit, cops said.
The teen, who has not been identified by authorities due to his age, fled after the stabbings.
Cops tracked him down and took him into custody less than half a mile away near Dare Road and Buckskin Lane in Selden around 11:22 p.m.
He is charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Tuesday.
There had been no prior domestic violence incidents in the home, cops said.
Suffolk County Police said there is no history of domestic violence at the residence.
