Two men are dead after a wrong-way car crash on a major Long Island highway Wednesday night.
Byron DeJesus Alvizures Cifuentes, 28, was driving his 2013 Honda Civic north on the Meadowbrook State Parkway near Hempstead at about 11:30 p.m. when a 2020 Nissan Rogue headed in the wrong direction slammed into him head-on, according to the New York State Police.
The Nissan’s driver, Timothy Peter Reid, 64, of Huntington, was alone when he somehow ended up in the highway’s northbound lane, authorities said.
Both men died at the scene.
