A white-haired Long Island town board member attacked a fellow politician on the dais during a closed-door government meeting — allegedly unloading a flurry of punches, cops and sources said.
Smithtown Town Council member Thomas Lohmann, 68, was charged with assaulting fellow Republican Tom McCarthy, 68, during a Tuesday executive session where the pols got heated over an undisclosed legal matter, sources told The Post.
Lohmann got up and rushed McCarthy — who was sitting four seats away — and punched him multiple times as the town supervisor, town attorney and other board members watched the suit-wearing pair in a full-fledged Boomer blowup, the sources said.

The two men were seen arguing before it got physical. Obtained by NY PostA furious McCarthy can be seen tossing a chair as he confronts Lohmann after the alleged attack, according to video obtained by The Post.
Lohmann, a former NYPD homicide detective and assistant special investigator for the Suffolk County district attorney before taking office in 2018, is now charged with assault and due in court April 28.
McCarthy, who previously defeated Lohmann in a 2017 Republican primary for town council, has since told Newsday he no longer feels safe working with Lohmann and is seeking a restraining order against his colleague.

The brawl is just the latest controversy to roil the quiet Suffolk County town of 125,000 on the island’s North Shore.
In June of last year, members of Smithtown Town Supervisor Ed Wehrheim’s family were arrested for stalking and harassing his political opponent Rob Trotta during their low-profile Republican primary.
The town has also been grappling with a controversial and newly unveiled “Big Brother”-esque surveillance network that gives police live access to more than 250 cameras across all town locations and parks — a system some residents have likened to something out of George Orwell’s “1984.”
“I used to be proud to say I live in Smithtown,” Trotta told The Post about the fight between his colleagues.
“But with all of the nonsense going on, this group — including Lohmann — has turned Smithtown into an embarrassment,” he said.
Lohmann and McCarthy did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
