A Louisiana mother was reportedly arrested after her 2-year-old son who last left inside a car died of heatstroke on Sunday.

Natalie Broussard, 27, is facing a negligent homicide charge in connection to the death of her baby, Ryatt Hensley, authorities told KLFY.

The tot was found inside the car about 1:50 p.m. in Lafayette Parish, the report said.

The Lafayette Parish Coroner’s Office ruled the boy died of heatstroke.

Broussard was held without bond at the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center after her Monday arrest.
