That’s one slippery seal.
A dramatic new video shows a seal narrowly escaping the jaws of a great white shark as the two leap from the water and into the air.
The near-fatal encounter happened off the coast of Cape Cod.
The video, which was viewed online nearly 700,000 times in two days, was filmed by Dr. Greg Skomal of the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries. He was doing research at the time with the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy.
Since the video was filmed, researchers tagged two 12-foot great white sharks in the area, according to the Cape Cod Times.
