Albany’s self-proclaimed socialists and progressives aren’t hurting for cash.
State Sen. Liz Krueger, who pushed for so-called “rent control for the rich” under the pretense of helping the middle class, has close to an eye-watering $24 million in investments, according to newly released 2024 financial disclosures.
It’s unlikely that fortune is based solely off the progressive pol’s $142,000 a year salary as a state senator — an office she’s held since 2002.
Krueger represents the Upper East side and parts of midtown Manhattan in the State Senate. Hans PenninkKrueger’s father, Harvey, was CEO of an investment bank that merged with Lehman Brothers, where he became vice chairman.
The wealth of the Ridgewood native — who said New York should ditch the land of the free and join the Great White North after President Trump’s election — could be even bigger, as state lawmakers don’t have to disclose money held in trusts set up by relatives.
Krueger, 67, who lives on Manhattan’s Upper East Side with her retired CUNY professor husband, owns an assortment of stocks and bonds, including close to $8 million worth of Apple, the disclosures revealed.
Another progressive lawmaker, Lt. Gov. Antonio Delgado, holds close to $1.1 million in bank accounts.

The lieutenant governor, nicknamed “No Show Delgado” because he’s missed hundreds of days of work as Gov. Hochul’s $220,000-a-year deputy, is vying for Hochul’s gig.
Then there’s socialist State Sen. Jabari Brisport, one of mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani’s comrades in Albany who once slammed capitalism with AOC.
He sold his holdings in cryptocurrency Ethereum last year to put up to $250,000 in a “US Vegan Climate ETF.”
