Passersby in a Spanish town thought a man carrying what appeared to be a human head poking out of a plastic bag was pulling a sick Halloween prank – but he was later arrested when the rest of his friend’s remains were found, according to a report.

Police in the southwest city of Huelva were alerted about 3 p.m. Saturday about the man, who allegedly dumped the head in a recycling bin on Avenida de Pio XII, a central avenue, the Sun reported.

He was arrested in a nearby apartment where the rest of his pal’s body was discovered after he reportedly showed the decapitated head to some people, including children, according to the outlet.

Neither the suspect nor the dead man, who was about 50, have been identified.

A court has ordered authorities not to comment about the grisly find as an investigation is underway.
