A man was arrested on Monday in connection with a shooting at a homecoming party in Texas over the weekend that killed two people and injured 12 others.

Brandon Ray Gonzales, 23, of Greenville, Texas was taken into custody at an auto dealership where he works and charged with capital murder of multiple persons in connection with Saturday’s rampage, Hunt County Sheriff Randy Meeks said.

Officials set bond at $1 million.

The shooting took place around midnight Saturday about 15 miles southwest of a campus of the Texas A&M University System.

The event was a Halloween and homecoming party for Texas A&M University-Commerce, thought not a school sanctioned event.

Authorities believe the shooter may have been targeting just one person at the party of about 750 people, and that others may have been shot at random.

Kevin Berry Jr. of Dallas and Byron Craven Jr. of Arlington, both 23, were killed, authorities said.
