A Las Vegas man has been arrested in connection to the fatal stabbing of his ex-girlfriend.

Brandon Hanson, 33, faces charges of murder after his 21-year-old ex Makayla Rhiner was found dead Thursday in her apartment garage, according to the news station KSNV.

Police said that her body was discovered around 7:17 p.m. by another resident going to their car at the complex. She had last been seen alive around 5:30 p.m. in the parking garage.

Rhiner had been attacked from behind and possibly beaten before she died, according to KXNT. She reportedly suffered multiple stabbing and incised wounds.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office ruled her official cause of death a homicide.

Hanson, who had dated Rhiner earlier this year, was arrested Saturday and booked at Clark County Detention Center.

Investigators have not released a possible motive behind the murder.

Rhiner’s friends took to Facebook to pay tribute to the “kindhearted” young woman.

“Makayla Rhiner, they will find justice for you,” said friend Krissy Tayam. “You were one of the sweetest and most kindhearted girls with a funny sense of humor ever. Stay beautiful Makayla.”
