A California man convicted of sexually abusing a child was arrested when he skipped his sentencing to meet up with a Michigan girl he met online.

Michael Khatoonian of Tuscola County faced up to 85 years in prison after being found guilty of a brazen sexual assault, in which he molested his victim while her mother was sitting on the same couch, and while the mom was in a nearby bathroom, according to the local ABC affiliate.

The conviction apparently did nothing to shame Khatoonian, who allegedly skipped bail and headed to Michigan to meet up with another girl. He was arrested Wednesday in The Great Lakes State.

Authorities are working on extraditing Khatoonian back to California.
