A daredevil is on quest to fly across the Atlantic Ocean — dangling under a massive cluster of balloons.

Jonathan Trappe, 39, of North Carolina launched the 2,500-mile journey on a vehicle powered by 370 balloons filled with helium on Thursday morning.

“Weather is absolutely the most dangerous factor,”Trappe said, according to London’s Daily Mail. ‘But it’s a double-edged sword. It’s the only thing that will carry me across, but bad conditions could also ruin the attempt or endanger my life.’

The journey, which he launched from Maine, could take him up to six days at a height of up to 25,000 feet, sources said.

He’ll rely on a team of meteorologists to guide and advise him on technique based on weather patterns.

It’s not the first time Trappe has tried the stunt.  In 2010,  he became the first man to fly over the English Channel on the balloon cluster.

And he was also the first person to fly over the Alps in 2010.q

The balloons are tied to a specially-crafted rubber boat — and looks inspired by the Disney movie “Up.”
