A New Jersey man took live streaming quite literally by peeing on an unoccupied police car as a crowd cheered him on outside a Newark movie theater, police said.

Tauqeer Boyd, 22, was arrested at his West Orange home Sunday night, less than 24 hours after the incident at CityPlex 12, Newark Police Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said in a statement.

The footage posted on social media shows the suspect marking his territory on the police SUV on Springfield Avenue while the officers were on assignment nearby late Saturday, police said.

The next afternoon, the video was leaked to authorities and a warrant was issued for Boyd, who was nabbed a few hours later and charged with lewdness, criminal mischief and disorderly contact.

“We absolutely will not tolerate disrespect of our police,” said Ambrose. “We take this as a personal insult. When our department became aware of this, we moved quickly to apprehend the suspect.”

Ambrose said the fact the public alerted police about the brazen urinator shows that “mutual respect” between police and Newark citizens is building.

“The public wants to be respected and wants the police to be respected, too,” he said. “This was not only an insult to us, but a quality of life issue. Newark residents want us to enforce the law and improve the quality of life in the city.”

Boyd had a previous run-in with a police car.

In October, he was arrested for burglarizing a cruiser parked outside Hoboken police headquarters.

He and another man had rummaged through the vehicle, throwing two summons books on the ground and unzipping a Narcan kit. Boyd was arrested at the scene.

The status of that case wasn’t immediately clear Tuesday.
