Authorities on Tuesday identified one of the fishnappers who admitted stealing a shark from the San Antonio Aquarium and sneaking it outside in a stroller.
Anthony Shannon, 38, was charged with felony theft for reaching into the tank and removing the horn shark — named Miss Helen — from an exhibit on Saturday, according to local station KENS5.
Shannon already has a lengthy rap sheet, with eight previous arrests for aggravated assault, evading arrest, theft of a vehicle and marijuana possession, among others, reported KAST.
His bond was set at $10,000.
Shannon and another man confessed to Leon Valley police officers when they discovered the 1½-foot-long shark in one of their homes.
A third suspect, believed to be a woman, has not confessed.
The aquarium said the trio stalked the tank for more than an hour before putting their jaw-dropping plan into action — wrapping the shark in a wet blanket and then putting her in a bucket at the bottom of a baby stroller.
The sea creature was returned to the aquarium on Monday evening and is in “very good condition,” the aquarium said.
