A crazed driver crashed his car into a London police station and then set fire to it in the street — reportedly in retaliation for being hit with a $13,125 fine for breaking coronavirus lockdown rules.

Scotland Yard, the headquarters of London’s Metropolitan Police, initially sent counter-terrorism officers to Edmonton police station in north London after the man crashed his sedan into the outside wall late Wednesday.

He then got out and calmly poured gas over the car and into the street, before bending down to light it — immediately sparking a blaze in the street, shocking video shows.

London’s Met Police later announced that the incident was no longer being treated as terror-related — and sources told the Sun the man had snapped after being hit with the maximum fine for a breach of the UK’s tough COVID lockdown. It was not clear what lockdown rules he had broken, the paper said.

“This was not believed to be terror-related and those living and working in the area can be reassured that this appears to have been an isolated incident that poses no ongoing risk to community safety,” Detective Chief Superintendent Treena Fleming said.

A 45-year-old man arrested at the scene was still being held on suspicion of arson, affray and criminal damage, police said. He was not identified. No police officers or members of the public were injured.
