ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Alaska State Troopers say a 63-year-old Sutton man died when his inflatable kayak turned over in the Matanuska River.
Troopers say Martin Rinke was in a party of four kayaks on the river Saturday near Glacier View.
His death was initially reported as resulting from a raft flipping. An updated trooper report says each person in the party had his own kayak.
Troopers say personnel with Nova Alaska, a river rafting tour company, assisted with recovery of Rinke’s body.
An autopsy is planned.
