PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. — Authorities say a man will face a first-degree murder charge for intentionally driving his car into his brother outside the family’s home in Pembroke Pines.

Police say the brothers were arguing over a family matter inside the home on July 27. The argument spilled into the front yard, where 42-year-old Everan Forbes and 36-year-old Shawn Forbes began physically fighting.

The Miami Herald reports the younger brother threw a brick paver at his brother’s car and then got into his car.

According to a police report, the younger man then accelerated and headed toward his brother, who was “hurled into the air.”

Everan Forbes was taken to the hospital with multiple injuries. He died Monday.

Shawn Forbes remains in jail without bond. Records don’t show whether he’s hired a lawyer.
