A Michigan man allegedly stabbed his mother and stepfather after being told to stop playing video games last Friday — and the stepfather died four days later, authorities said.

Christopher McKinney, 29, went into a rage when his 66-year-old mother and 71-year-old stepfather asked him to stop playing video games in their room at their Madison Heights apartment so they could go to sleep, WDIV reported.

McKinney responded by punching his mother in the face, reportedly breaking her nose. The stepfather then went into the kitchen to grab a knife in self-defense, but McKinney managed to snatch it away to stab him and his mother, Madison Heights police said.

A neighbor later found McKinney in the hallway covered in blood, and called the police.

McKinney’s mother and stepfather told officers what happened when they arrived.

McKinney put up a fight with cops as they tried to arrest him, and he also assaulted a fire lieutenant at the scene, police said.

McKinney has been charged with attempted murder, resisting and assaulting officers. One of his attempted murder charges is expected to be upgraded to murder following his stepfather’s death, according to WDIV.
