A German man sent a police station into a panic after he brought in an explosive find from his garden.
CENThe well-meaning 61-year-old thought nothing of hauling in a stash of live explosives, grenades, rifle and munitions in Ahaus in the district of Borken, Central European News reported.
After placing the items in a bag, he loaded the rifle, grenades and bazooka into his car and drove to the police station.
“He calmly placed it on the counter at the police station as if it was an ordinary item of lost property that he wanted to hand in,” a police spokesman said.
The shocked cops immediately evacuated the station and called in the bomb squad. It took several hours for the bomb-disposal experts to clear the station.
