A customer sitting in a diner a half mile from where a medical transport flight smashed into the ground in northeast Philadelphia was struck by debris from the crash, but survived.
The unidentified man was sitting in a booth at the Four Seasons Diner on Cottman Avenue when a small piece of metal thought to be from the doomed Learjet 55 flew through one of the glass windows, Fox 29 reported Saturday.
“We all pretty shaken but everyone is OK,” Four Seasons manager Ayhan Tiryaki told The Post. “The one customer was hit in the head with a piece of metal and he was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. We don’t know exactly how he is but we hope he’ll be OK.”
Tiryaki said no one else in the diner was hurt, Tiryaki added.

At least one person on the ground was killed Friday night and 19 were injured when the plane crashed, officials said Saturday morning.
“The victim was in a car,” Mayor Cherelle Parker said during a news conference, adding, “This is not etched in stone, and the investigation is ongoing.”
All six aboard the plane were killed, authorities said.
Those injured on the ground were in parking lots, on the streets, in cars and homes near the crash site, which left a large field of debris, damaged buildings and burnt out cars, Parker’s office said.
Six patients were taken to Temple University Hospital, three of whom were treated and released and three of whom remained hospitalized in fair condition, the facility said.

“Right now, we’re just asking for prayers,” Parker told reporters Friday.
The Learjet 55 plummeted out of the sky shortly after 6 p.m., less than a minute after taking off from Northeast Philadelphia Airport en route to Missouri’s Springfield-Branson National Airport.
The plane was carrying six Mexican nationals including a young girl who had received “live-saving treatment” in the US, her mother, a doctor, paramedic, pilot, and copilot, Shai Gold, spokesman for Jet Rescue Air Ambulance said. No one survived.
Mexico president Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed Saturday the six victims were Mexican nationals.
