Police said a man was fatally gunned down near a North Carolina college campus while he was livestreaming on social media.

The male suspect remains at large after he opened fire Monday morning across the street from Wingate University in Union County, North Carolina, news station WBTV reported.

In a Facebook Live video, the victim was seen walking down the street when he was confronted by the suspected gunman.

“You don’t lie,” the victim can be heard saying before several shots were fired.

Authorities confirmed the man was killed in the altercation, but his identity was not released.

It’s unclear if the alleged shooter and victim previously interacted.

The suspect, who was armed with a long gun, is a black male wearing a windbreaker and Timberland boots, according to police.

Wingate University alerted students and placed the school temporarily on lockdown following the incident.

“While local law enforcement remains on campus, they have advised the University to lift the campus-wide lockdown,” the university announced shortly before 1 p.m. on Twitter.
