A man was shot Wednesday night outside the home arena of the Golden State Warriors, where hoops fans had gathered at a party to watch the team on TV play in the NBA finals in Cleveland, authorities said.

Gunfire erupted at 8:58 p.m. PDT in the parking lot shared by the Oracle Arena and Oakland Coliseum, Oakland police said.

The man was listed in stable condition and is expected to survive his wound.

Thousands of fans had just watched their Warriors defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers 110-102. The game in Cleveland ended at 8:30 p.m. in Oakland.
