Authorities have identified the man who shot himself to death in front of the White House as a 26-year-old Alabama man.

Cameron Ross Burgess, of Maylene, Ala., approached the White House shortly before noon Saturday and fired several rounds from a handgun, the DC Police Department said on Sunday.

None of the shots appeared to be aimed at the White House.

President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were not in the White House at the time.

They were at Trump’s Florida resort Mar-a-Lago.
