An Ohio man attempted to rob a Starbucks across the street from a police station, leading to a shootout with cops, authorities said.

Dominique Hullum walked into the java joint on Lorain Road in North Olmsted about 8 a.m. Monday and ordered a barista to hand over money at gunpoint, Fox 8 reported.

The employee stuffed cash drawers into bags, but they ripped and the loot fell to the ground as he fled, surveillance video obtained by Cleveland.com shows.

He grabbed one drawer and ran out of the Starbucks – but the store happens to be across the street from the police headquarters and a cop responded nearly as quickly as it takes to gulp an espresso.

Dash camera video shows the hapless suspect dashing off with the officer in steaming hot pursuit.

He swerves his patrol car into Hullum, who is holding the pistol in one hand and the money in the other.

The bandit shoots at the SUV and the cop fires back.

“One of our cars was hit by gunfire, it took a round to the hood of the car and the driver’s side window was shattered,” said police Sgt. Dan Barrett said, WOIO reported.

“Our officer jumped out of the car and returned fire once he started taking fire from the suspect,” he said.

Hullum then jumped in his car, fled north on Dover Center Road and later stopped behind a house in a cul-de-sac on Kingston Circle, where he once again exchanged fire with police.

The suspect was hit but refused to surrender, according to Fox 8.

“He kept apologizing to his mother, telling everybody this was an accident, a mistake, so I don’t think he had a full-fledged plan on what he was trying to do and whatever plan he had obviously failed quickly,” Sgt. Matt Beck told the outlet.

His plans to rob the Starbucks was not worth beans, cops said

“Definitely wasn’t a wise decision. He was outmanned, outnumbered, outgunned, the whole nine yards,” Beck said.

Hullum was charged with aggravated robbery.

One officer was hit by flying glass but is expected to be OK, Fox 8 reported.
