All of the nation’s 500 largest school districts have gotten rid of their student mask mandates — after the last holdout, Newark, New Jersey, scrapped the requirement, new data shows.

The Garden State’s largest public school district made face coverings optional for students, staff and visitors as on Monday.

“With Newark Public Schools removing the district’s mask mandate, the number of Top 500 School districts with a mask mandate for students is now zero,” said a Tweet from data provider Burbio on Tuesday.

Just seven of the top 500 school districts still required masks for learners last month, according to the site, which has tracked K-12 COVID-19 rules throughout the pandemic.

Others to recently ax the mandate were Prince George’s County in Maryland, Jefferson County in Kentucky and Philadelphia, Burbio co-founder Dennis Roche told The Post.

Ann Arbor in Michigan, Pittsburgh and San Diego got rid of the requirement late last month.

“A handful of districts require (masks) for staff or visitors in certain circumstances,” said Roche — such as Sweetwater, California, that requires masks for unvaccinated staffers and visitors. Just six large school districts had similar policies only for adults.

The last time a majority of large school districts required masks was in February, according to the tracker.

New York City public schools got rid of masks in early March, except for children under 5 years old.

Districts throughout Connecticut were likewise allowed to go mask-optional the last day of February, and many New Jersey schools followed suit the next month.

The Newark Board of Education announced last Friday that the district of 38,000 students would remove the mandate effective Monday.

The requirement was in place through its summer programs and the first week of school, according to the education news source Chalkbeat.
