A disgraced ex-Massachusetts cop charged with strangling a pregnant woman he began molesting when she was just 15 is now also accused of killing her unborn baby, federal prosecutors said.
Former Stoughton Police Officer Matthew Farwell, 39, is already accused of killing pregnant 23-year-old Sandra Birchmore inside her Canton apartment in February 2021 — and the sicko is now facing new charges in the death of her unborn baby, the US Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts said this week.

Farwell was charged with killing Birchmore’s unborn baby, federal prosecutors said this week. Boston Globe via Getty Images“The indictment alleges that Farwell killed Birchmore with malice aforethought and with the intent to prevent her from disclosing to law enforcement that he used his authority and access as a police officer to groom and sexually abuse Birchmore, including while he was on duty, beginning when she was 15 years old and continuing until her death,” prosecutors said in a press release Tuesday.
“The indictment further alleges that Farwell’s killing of Birchmore resulted in the death of her unborn child.”
Farwell joined the Stoughton Police Department in March 2012 and was 27 when Birchmore, then just 13, joined its youth program, according to court records.

Farwell agreed to “attempt to impregnate” Birchmore in the fall of 2020 to keep her from exposing their years of illegal sexual encounters, according to the US Attorney’s Office.
She eventually became pregnant and planned to announce the news on Valentine’s Day 2021.
But the secret began to unravel when a friend of Birchmore’s called the police department on Jan. 20, 2021, to blow the whistle, a superseding federal indictment unsealed this week revealed.

This week, he was additionally charged with causing the death of an unborn child.
All of the dirty cops, which reportedly included Farwell’s twin brother, William Farwell — who allegedly had sex with her just three weeks before her death, according to court records — resigned in 2022.
