A Colorado mom was sentenced this week in connection with the death of her toddler, who inadvertently killed himself with her pink pistol — which he believed was a water gun.

Melissa Michelle Adamson, a 33-year-old recovering addict, was ordered Monday to serve 24 years in prison for 2-year-old Lokhi Bloom’s death, the Colorado Gazette reported.

The mom was high on meth on Oct. 21, 2018, while her son was playing a game with her unsecured .380 Ruger, authorities said.

The boy — who loved to play with squirt guns — allegedly put the pistol in his mouth and pulled the trigger, causing his death, according to the report.

Adamson pleaded guilty in September to child abuse resulting in death, as well as two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
