A 57-year-old man was killed and three other people were injured in a two-car collision on Long Island.

Nassau County police say a 17-year-old driver lost control of his Toyota in East Garden City just before midnight Monday and struck a Honda on Merrick Avenue. The driver of the Honda was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Three passengers in the Toyota – a 22-year-old woman and two teens ages 15 and 16 – were taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.

The investigation into the crash is continuing.
