Authorities are on the scene of a fatal accident involving two trucks on the Long Island Expressway.

Suffolk County police say the accident occurred at 2:24 a.m. Monday in the westbound lanes between exits 51 and 52 in the Dix Hills-East Half Hollow Hills area.

The westbound lanes between exists 51 and 53 remained closed hours later.

The accident involved a pickup truck and a commercial truck.

The driver of the pickup was killed. The driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries.
