One person died and four others were injured in a boating accident off the South Shore of Staten Island yesterday, law-enforcement sources said.

The boat may have run aground and taken on water at around 6:15 p.m. in Princes Bay, sources said. It was not clear last night if the vessel capsized.

Four victims were taken to a New Jersey hospital, while a fifth person was pronounced dead.
