BRIDGEPORT, N.Y. — State police say a 17-year-old suburban Syracuse woman has died and two other women are in critical condition after a collision on a central New York road.
Troopers say Victoria Deverso of Clay and 18-year-old Chelsea Kuss of Syracuse were traveling in a sport utility vehicle that crashed head-on into another vehicle Monday afternoon on Route 31 in Bridgeport, 10 miles northeast of Syracuse.
Deverso died at the scene. Kuss was reported in critical condition at a Syracuse hospital, as was the 38-year-old woman driving the other vehicle.
Police say it’s not known which teen was driving the SUV because the impact of the crash was so violent.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing.
