A female driver in a pickup truck struck an 11-year-old boy on a scooter on Long Island — then fled, leaving the seriously injured child in the street, police said Monday.

The hit-and-run suspect was in an older model, two-door, red pickup when she struck the victim around 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Massapequa in Nassau County, authorities said.

The child was on Eastgate Road when he was hit, suffering “multiple serious injuries,’’ they said. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and is in stable condition, cops said.

Authorities are looking for the driver, whose pickup was last seen heading north on Eastgate Road. Photos of her pickup were released to the press.

Cops are asking anyone with information to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or call the county police department’s Seventh Squad at 516-573-6753. All calls will remain anonymous.
